Big Pharma attempting to corner the market on medical marijuana

As DEA raids and IRS harassment continue on state-approved medical marijuana, Big Pharma eyes the profitability of cannabis and prepares to muscle in, using its lobbyists and government connections to ensure a monopoly on legal sales of the drug.

In early April of 2011, two drug manufacturing giants, G.W. Pharmaceuticals and Novartis, announced they had formed an alliance to license and market GW's Sativex, a liquid cannabis drug. The drug is already available in Great Britain, as well as Canada and Spain. The licensing agreement with Novartis will enable sales to expand into markets in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. FDA Phase III trials are still being organized for Otsuka, GW's partner for licensing Sativex for the US market.

Unlike other cannaboids produced for recreational or medicinal use, Sativex is not a synthetic but an actual extract of the cannabis plant. It therefore lacks the side-effects of the synthetic drugs which merely attempt to replicate cannabis. Patients, primarily people diagnosed with MS or cancer, spray Sativex beneath their tongues.

GW claims that Sativex is formulated to provide the same health benefits that medical marijuana offers but without that drug's high. GW says that Sativex balances the psychoactive agent THC with cannabidiol (CBD), the chemical believed to be the source of medical marijuana's anti-nausea and cancer-cell-killing effects, in such a way as to eliminate any of the sensations associated with recreational marijuana. However, cannabis expert Dr. Lester Grinspoon, professor emeritus of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, points out that the issue of whether Sativex produces marijuana high depends on the size of the dosage.

One of GW's allies in its attempt to replace state-legalized whole-plant medical marijuana with its own chemical extract is Dr. Andrea Barthwell whose career includes consulting for GW, as well as stints as deputy drug czar under President George W. Bush and as president of the American Society for Addiction Medicine. Barthwell frames Big Pharma cannabis as best way to bring marijuana into medical usage: "The safety and advisability of any prescriptive medicine should depend on years of careful scientific scrutiny, not whims at the ballot box by individuals who lack the qualifications to make such decisions. Allowing cannabis to circumvent FDA approval sets a dangerous precedent and puts us on a slippery slope."

Big Pharma's big contributions to many legislators means they have many elected officials willing to see things the drug companies' way on this, as on many other issues. Even legislators known to take a strong states' right stance on other issues, such as offshore drilling, somehow find themselves standing up for federal oversight on this topic. For example, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), who holds the dubious distinction of the being the member of Congress who has accepted the largest amount from pharmaceutical firms, has taken a stance against state legalization of marijuana.

If you have a politician in your state who speaks out against medical marijuana, you may want to look into his/her ties to Big Pharma. As the American Independent observes, the pharmaceutical giants' strategy as regards marijuana seems to be "demonize it, prosecute it, shut it down, then grab the market." Let your friends and family know that many of those who fight against medical marijuana are not, as they may prefer to present themselves, taking a pro-family stance against drug addiction, but shills for multinational drug corporations who want to keep all drug profits in their coffers.

The idea that a drug can be denounced as evil in one context but hailed as a medical miracle if sold within the pharmaceutical system is nothing new. Big Pharma's magic cure pills for ADHD bear a suspicious chemical resemblance to speed.

The Council of Europe recently called on European governments to take action against cell phones.[Link] The WHO now admits that there's evidence linking cell phones to brain tumors.[Link] The news is everywhere. Of course everyone who has an IQ above 70 has known for years that cell phones kill you. It's incredibly obvious. And the WHO knows.

The only reason they didn't mention it is because their experts are bought and paid for. However, they recently kicked out one of their experts. He was still allowed as a non-voting "expert", but he could no longer vote, since his links to the industry had been exposed. The whole drama is explained by Microwave news.[Link]

Please make no mistake. It hasn't recently been "discovered" that cell phones cause cancer. This has been known since before cell phones were invented. Everything that humans can create is studied to see what it does. We knew microwaves had biological effects before cell phones were introduced. The Soviet Union used microwave radiation to harm ambassadors.[Link] The Soviet Union banned the Microwave oven in 1976.[Link]

Do you really believe we forgot to study whether cell phones could hurt you or not? That we just decided "We'll introduce these little machines, our theoretical models tell us everything will be alright". Do you believe that this happened? That our governments, our military-industrial complex, our leaders, the people who keep the system stable, had no idea? That they seriously believed that the only effects of microwave radiation are thermal in nature? You're wrong.

We knew all along that microwave radiation gives you cancer and has athermal effects on life. We've known this for decades. People who live near cell phone towers will suffer from depression, headaches, impotence, insomnia, cancer, and all sorts of health effects. People who use cell phones have the same problems. In the same manner that alcohol makes you excited and happy because it kills your brain, you're happy when you're on your cell phone because it's killing your brain.

The coming years you will see that cell phones are banned in schools. The excuse will mostly be that they distract the children. Eventually they'll be banned in public spaces too. Wireless technology is gradually going to be phased out. And humanity is going to be phased out along with it. The damage is there. Your children are autistic. One in 38 Korean children has autism now. The radiation sucks the life out of them. The frequency used specifically harms neurons, since they're most sensitive to it.[Link]

So many people find it hard to believe that we are being Poisoned, tested on, lied to, that plans are documented to control and contain us as well as kill us by the powers that be. That there are such things as the New World Order, Chemtrails, Weather warfare, Mind control, With Held medicines and technologies. That indeed conspiracies exist and that not everyone who speaks of this is a nut job or else you would have to call yourself a nut job. Whether its O.J., Michael Jackson or 911, everyone speaks of conspiracies no matter which side of the fence you reside. This show isn't about why they do what they do, it's about the fact that it has and is being done: Therefore exists. Plain and simple. This wont be a show covering hours worth of evidence. We will focus on a few elements to keep it simple and to the point so there is no confusion. All links will be provided in the video description and I strongly suggest before saying, "There's nothing to debunk" as your only line of defense, that it is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt. Another Bloody Birthday: Activists mark 40 years of British Drug War
Youth activists hold a 40th birthday party for Misuse of Drugs Act calling for a more evidence-based approach.
At 12:00PM on Thursday the 2nd of June, a group of activists will gather outside the Home Office to call for evidence-based drugs policies to coincide with the release of a report by the Global Commission on Drug Policy. This week marks 40 years since the adoption of the Misuse of Drugs Act into UK legislation. The demonstrators will be holding a ‘birthday party’ to remember the impact this single piece of legislation continues to have on life in the United Kingdom.
Activists will sing Happy Birthday to the Misuse of Drugs Act before delivering a Birthday Card to the Home Office.
The event is a witty and comical way of mocking the government’s intransigence on this very serious issue. The group hopes that by highlighting forty years of failed drug policy, the Home Office may take the Commission’s report seriously.
The demonstration is being called by “Students for Sensible Drug Policy UK” – a network of students and young people campaigning for better drug policies. Students for Sensible Drug Policy first came to prominence when they campaigned against the sacking of Professor David Nutt from the drugs advisory council.
Levent Akbulut, a spokesperson for the organisation said; “In the last 40 years we have seen increased addiction, the expansion of organised crime and the complete inability of the government to control the flood of legal highs onto the market – it is clear our drug laws are not working. We call on the government to look very seriously at the findings of the Global Commission’s report and embrace evidence-based drug policy”.

PARIS - Still digesting news of sex assault charges against a presidential contender and allegations against a minister, French voters are now confronted with rumours of a high-level pedophile cover-up.

The scandal erupted two weeks after IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was arrested in New York, and two days after Civil Service Minister George Tron resigned to fight charges he had sexually abused two municipal employees.

Appearing on TV to discuss what the allegations reveal about French society, ex-education minister Luc Ferry let slip a claim that a then serving minister had been caught abusing "small boys" at a Moroccan orgy several years ago.

According to Ferry, who did not name the alleged pedophile, the case was known about "at the highest levels of state" and French officials worked with Morocco to hush up the scandal and ensure the minister returned safely.

Ferry's intention appeared to be to cite an anecdote revealing the extent to which, prior to Strauss-Kahn's arrest, French law prevented politicians and journalists from discussing individual sexual behviour behind closed doors.

But his comments provoked a storm of criticism, with leading political figures piling in to demand that he either provide evidence of wrongdoing to the authorities or else withdraw the claim as unfounded rumour-mongering.

"If anyone thinks he knows about a crime, he should make a complaint and not just blabber to the press," Foreign Minister Alain Juppe declared.

Former justice minister Rachida Dati warned Ferry he had put himself in a difficult position, since he was either spreading slander or else perverting the course of justice by witholding evidence of a serious crime.

She predicted that an investigating magistrate would be obliged to look into the case, and warned: "We have legislation in France that allows us to prosecute anyone who carries out pedophile acts abroad."

Elizabeth 2 was crowned by fraud, and has been acting un-Lawfully ever since.

In the binding contract she signed to officially become the "queen" of Britain, she promised NOT to legislate herself, or allow others to do so. This of course she has failed to uphold in a massive way, having given royal assent to over 3,400 acts of parliament so far.

She has also breached that contract in many, many other ways as well.

Because of video, audio, and written evidence compiled by Muad'Dib, there is absolute NO refutation to the FACT that Elizabeth did indeed make this binding contract, and what the terms are for that contract. This video shows only excerpted bits and pieces of that evidence.
