An Morvil Kornek / The Horned Whale by Jeremy Schanche - available at all ebook distributors, in all formats!

An Morvil Kornek or The Horned Whale, by Jeremy Schanche, available now at all major ebook distributors, in all formats...
Plug in this electronic book and take a journey round the 'Shyre' -
Come to Penwithershins and check out the Underground as Old Janner shows Pat Vulgata round the labyrinths of the mine in The Janetta Stone.
Dark New Lynsmouth has seen many tribulations, but none so great as that set forth in The Kramvil, a gothic novel of eldritch and extraordinary phenomena which unwinds its thread through the twisting alleys of the Old Quarter.  When the studious Elias Gillpington runs into the audacious scientist Lazarus Taxon, the wings of fate soon becloud the Keltek sky.  As the shadow falls upon New Lynsmouth, Elias sees a glint of light in the presence of the beautiful Miss Constance Place.  The story pulses and pullulates with life like a seething vat of yeast infested by furious clouds of flies and wasps on a sunny day, in an ancient lithograph of old Bombay.  Potent, frothy, well-charged and heady, this electric manuscript will give you the skittering jitters and chill your rattling trotters.
The collection of Poems will most likely sneak up on yous from downwind and lasso yous off to a land of golden sunshine, rustling leaves and phonographs furling out foxtrots 'fore rustling ya rational-mind and dry-gulching yous in Tuskaloosa or somewheres or some or other such place.
Next, for the word-hungry among ye, we have a couple of glossaries to teach the tongues of talking.  First be the Gerlyvryn Kernouac which explains some words of the ancient Cornish language which appear in the stories.  Then we have the International Glossary which covers words from overseas, ancient and modern, as well as some archaic forms of Sowsnek, or 'English'.
For our closing act, we have Ghost-Hulk of a Phantom, a darkly comic portrait of a struggling writer - a halucinatory roulade of oceanic fervour - a splattering of adrenalin on a canvas of vast cabbage-fields.
To cut a John Dory short and chase the choice cuts I gotta say that An Morvil Kornek or The Horned Whale is the kind of book the lack of which would crook and rook up your reading-life by an absence of the positive presence of its very special form of effervescence.

There's 21 different ebook distributors selling The Horned Whale, including  Amazon, Apple (itunes), Baker and Taylor Blio, Baker-Taylor Axis 360, Barnes and Noble, Diesel, Flipkart, Gardners Extended Retail, Gardners Library, Inktera (formerly Page Foundry), Kobo, Library Direct, Odilo, OverDrive, Oyster, Scribd, Smashwords, Sony, Tolino, txtr, Yuzu, etc..  so there's a version out there to suit everyone.....  what follows are just a few of them - I'll put up the rest as they 'go live'...

Limpet Speaks Truth In Hunger Strike Conflict

7 DAYS OF HUNGER-STRIKE GETS ZERO RESPONSE FROM REV SIAN YATES, CHRIS ROYNON, NIGEL CARTER-KING, IN MOUSEHOLE SCHOOL DEBACLE.
JUST TO CLARIFY...   The basic game being played here is evasion.  Stalling, to use up the 'consultation time'.  This is done by replying late, if at all, to letters, then failing to answer the questions originally asked.  This initiates another letter and more time wasted... cynical, cyclical and futile.
Chris Roynon to Jeremy Schanche, 5th May 2016, excerpt:  "As discussed, I decline your offer of a public debate.  I do not think it appropriate to debate with a self elected spokesperson.  If you wish, I can arrange for a member of staff to minute any meeting we have and, subject to us all agreeing the minutes, you can use them as you wish."

Jeremy Schanche To Chris Roynon, 6th May 2016, excerpt:  "Openness and Transparency:  As regards the recording of open dialogue, it works like this:  Each party swears to be truthful.  Each party makes their own recording in whatsoever form they chose.  Each party is free to publish the entire unedited debate in any media.  If any party believes their words have been misquoted or misrepresented, they take action.  This is the basis on which Derek Thomas has asked me for a debate, and it is standard operating procedure in public life.  The debate over the future of Mousehole School will take place in public.  All attempts to stifle and suppress that debate will undermine your case."
{I recently had that debate with Derek Thomas MP and it can be seen here:
http://savetheholyheadland.blogspot.co.uk/2016/07/jeremy-schanche-derek-thomas-mp-limpet.html   I appreciate Derek giving me the time for a one hour interview, with no 'terms or conditions' necessary.  He was happy to stand up (metaphorically) in public and spontaneously speak his mind, on the public record and on youtube.  If only all public officials were so fearless...}

I wrote to Rev Sian Yates, Vicar of Protestant Penzance and Managing Director of the persona ficta Penlee 'Academy' 'Trust' on 10th May, posing her some questions.  To this day, she has not answered me or responded in any form whatsoever.  {Matthew 22: 36-40:}

On 26 May 2016 I wrote to Sian Yates, Chris Roynon and Nigel Carter-King (Secretary/Governor Mousehole School) asking them to at least swear that procedure had been carried out in full accordance with the law.  Curiously, no-one would give such a promise!

My letter to Chris Roynon of 9th June was never answered at all.

On 14th June, I again wrote to Chris Roynon and pointed out that due to delays from MSG and CC FOI Office, who referred almost all my questions back to Mousehole School, I was in the absurd position of beginning my enquiries on the last day of my 'official' right to do so.  I requested that the 'public consultation-period' be extended to give me a chance to start asking some questions.

A week later, on 21st June, Chris told me that they would not extend the consultation-period.

On 7th July, I posted two dozen (24) posters outside the gates of Mousehole School and around the area.  (This was meant to coincide sympathetically with the Teachers' Strike, but I got the day wrong!  Hey ho, that what happens when you don't follow mass-media so much...)   I also sent Chris a declaration on 7 July, saying that if he wouldn't meet me for a talk within a week I would be forced to take 'industrial action'.  Surely this is the voice of a man who wants to talk to another man..  I've spent countless unpaid hours on this case that could have been spent elsewhere.  All my attempts to communicate with MSG/PAT are on this blog.  I swear that I've been sincerely trying to open a dialogue since 21st April and the evidence is there to prove it, as blog is my witness.

Chris Roynon's response to this final, heartfelt appeal from me for dialogue  was to totally ignore it and utterly fail to respond to me in any way whatsoever.  According to Chris though, he's been willing to talk to me all along!

On July 18th, having still had no response from the elusive Chris, I put out a statement to MSG/PAT that I had started a on  hunger-strike on July 15th, and would uphold the strike  until they were ready to start talking:  http://savetheholyheadland.blogspot.co.uk/2016/07/hunger-strike-mousehole-school-2016.html   In my naivete I imagined that I'd get a phone-call in the next day or so, saying 'why not drop in for a chat', but after seven days on hunger-strike, Chris is continuing his inflexible policy of ignoring me.  This suits his purpose, after all, why do you think they call it 'forced academisation'?  What advantage could he or Sian derive from talking to me?  How would it help forward their plan?

On Thursday 21st July, The Cornishman printed their piece about my Hunger Strike.   Sadly, they didn't mention the fact that some of the Board of Directors of PAT are multi-millionaire trawler-owners - and this is nothing to do with money, right?   Having read in our local paper that Chris is now claiming he's 'open' to talk to me, I emailed him at 11:24am today, asking him to make contact with me.  Chris knows I've been on Hunger Strike for a week now, and knows I'm desperate to talk to him.  Did he bother to lift his phone and call my mobile or home number?  No.  Did he put a note in my child's book-bag, saying he'd love to meet and talk?  No.  Did he email me?  No.  The ignorance continues.  It is obvious to any critically thinking person whos's studied the evidence, that Chris Roynon, Sian Yates, and all, have no wish to talk to me whatsoever.  Chris Roynon's implication in The Cornishman that it's me who's declining dialogue is ridiculous, cynical and perhaps a little calous, under the circumstances - still, there is money at stake here...
Tomorrow is the last day of term.  The forces of business and 'academisation' are totally determined to push ahead and 'academise' Mousehole School by September, when the holiday is over and the children return to school.  Chris' tactics have totally undermined any attempt at discussion, investigation, representation etc.  I'm after some proper process in this case.  Apparently MSG voted in March to push for 'academisation'.  Legally the parent-governors are tasked with representing the wishes of the parents and community.  To fulfill this duty they would have needed to establish the views of the parents by ballot before taking the decision any further.  MSG failed to do this public duty.  Chris and Sian still ain't talking, time is getting late and I'm getting a tad peckish.....

Dear Chris,
I've just seen in the paper that you claim you want to meet me and talk.  Curiously, I feel the same.  Perhaps you would like to approach me and propose a possible time when we can all get together with our representatives and finally begin the democratic process.
You know how to reach me.
Bon appetite!

Email To: Hazel Murray, Reporter, The Cornishman, Penzance, Cornwall, 21.7.2016  (Day 7)
Dear Hazel,
I have to be honest and say I wasn't happy with the article.  The headline dilutes the impact of the strike by renaming it 'No solids', as opposed to 'Hunger', which is actually what it is.  In para one "hunger strike" is put in inverted commas, this implies a relativity to the use of the term.  Para three says I struck because Mousehole plans to join Penlee 'Academy' 'Trust' - this is false.  I struck because MSG (Mousehole School Governors) and PAT are failing to respond to me.  With time ticking away and MSG/PAT totally ignoring me, I had to make a move, an attempt to break this absurd stalemate.
I didn't actually set up the Mousehole School Preservation Society, it's merely a label to help people find my campaign on the internet.
It's not The Cornishman's fault however, that you printed a false statement from Chris Roynon.  He claims I was verbally offered a meeting.  This is false.
Initially I offered him a meeting, which he declined, as I was proposing a serious formal debate for the public record, youtube etc.  He didn't want to do that.  When I suggested that I could set up some public meetings for discussion, he dismissed the idea sarcastically, accusing me of trying to be a 'self-elected spokesperson', rather than a democrat trying to initiate dialogue which is how I see my role in this.  Eventually, he counter-proposed a meeting on ridiculous terms - they were not happy for me to simply go and have a recorded discussion.  They wanted editorial control over the discussion and were not happy for me to freely record and print verbatim what was said.  I then replied to Chris and the 'governors', again proposing discussion, but this has never been responded to in any meaningful way.  All the evidence is on my blog.
Who gets the last word in a newspaper article carries a lot of weight.  In the article about the anti-nuclear demo, The Cornishman gives the last word to tory MP Derek Thomas, who sees the atom bomb as a tool for peace.    In our 'no solids' article, the last word is given to Chris, and the last sentence is false.
Funilly enough, I started my own paper, The Limpet, after I read the first article by The Cornishman describing a demo I'd put on for Save The Holy Headland.  I felt the article trivialized the action.  This makes it very easy for typical readers to form a negative image of an action and ridicule it.
Well, sorry to be so negative about the article, but at least I'm being honest.
Best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
Jeremy

What Are They Up To?

Uploaded by on 9 Apr 2012

Shot on Good Friday 2012, this silent movie shews the greatly increased outflow from the adit that is draining into the sea from the disused Penlee Quarry. It also shews the mineral encrustation along the sides of the adit-stream. This indicates that the outflow was recently approximately 3 feet deeper than shewn in the film. It also illustrates how the increased depth of quarry-water has flooded into a rockpool, bleached the seaweed white and killed any fauna present. Environment Agency Incident Number: 978 352.

Quarry tests the water over scheme to ship rock armour

PROPOSALS to ship more than one million tonnes of stone from Penlee Quarry – and to link the quarry to the sea under the Newlyn to Mousehole road – have been submitted to Cornwall Council.

Quarry owners MDL Marinas (part of the Yattenden Group, owned by Baron Illiffe) are seeking a "scoping opinion" from planners to see whether an environmental assessment is required before full plans are submitted.

If successful, MDL would be able to ship out and sell rock armour, a stone typically used for sea defences and which was part of the rejected Option A plans for Penzance Harbour.

They would do so via barges under a fixed bridge which would be built in to Cliff Road – the main coastal access connecting Newlyn with Mousehole.

MDL Marinas director Ed Iliffe said the scoping opinion would not act as a precursor to controversial plans to build a marina, first touted almost a decade ago. But he did expect extra jobs to be created.

He said: "What we are really trying to do is to get ourselves in a position where we can react when a project comes forward.

"There is a lot of demand for armour stone. It could be required for schemes as far afield as the Isle of Wight and various harbour schemes being proposed in Hayle or in the Isles of Scilly.

"We will sell it to anyone who wants it but are more likely to sell in the UK.

"It isn't to do with the marina because the site already has permission to move about 20 million tonnes of minerals over the next 30 years."

He added that shipping the stone out by barge would avoid sending heavy goods vehicles through Newlyn.

Plans to build a multimillion-pound marina on the site of Penlee Quarry were first proposed after MDL took over ownership of the quarry in 2002.

They have included blueprints to build 200 new homes and a small hotel as well as the development of the marina itself.

Although the plans have since stalled, MDL is currently in discussions with a prospective partner to join it on the scheme, according to Mr Illife.

Caroline Astin, a member of former campaign group Stop the Marina, said she was wary of a possible link between two plans.

She said: "I couldn't imagine they would go through all that effort, blasting through the road just to clear out their backyard."

The latest plans for the future of Penzance Harbour and the Isles of Scilly sea link did not include rock armour on financial grounds.

Hadrian Piggot, from the Penzance Seafront Forum, who opposed the mineral's use in the initial Option A proposals, said: "Rock armour placed against existing sea defences causes damage to the heritage.

"I'm not saying no to the use of that mineral, it's actually how it's used and the use of it against existing sea defences."

Dick Cliffe, chairman of Penzance Chamber of Commerce, said: "Providing its done sensitively there shouldn't be a good reason to object to it.

"It's hard to divorce this idea from the longer-term plans. The bridge is going to cost a lot to build."...

Holy Headland Saved - Story in Full (Banned by thisisCornwall)

It should have been plain sailing.

But judgement, accountability and legality were lacking and the council's attitude was as unreal as a dream - costs spiralled from 42m to 62M in 2.5 years. The plan was to pay multi-national nuclear Big Business a fortune to destroy Penzance's beautiful seafront, and saddle taxpayers with a 25 year debt, added to their council tax. A splendid passenger/freighter would run virtually empty in winter, but still have to pay its own vast fuel bill.

To advance such an unfeasible, undemocratic and unlawful plan, in times of austerity, would seem, at best, perverse.

Democratic polls, taken at public consultations, as well public meetings and polls in local press have established that local people were united against the plan - excepting a clique of'interested parties'. A firm sense of solidarity and common purpose united Penzance like never before, with much humour at the expense of our silly local political 'masters'.

On Thursday, the grown-ups in central government finally told Cornwall Council to grow up and get real.

Relief swept the better part of Penzance when it was announced that our seafront and public purse were not to be butchered against our will by the despised 'Option A' and other, eminently sensible plans could finally be discussed and initiated. There was also some regret that irresponsible media, local government and our Chamber of Commerce had sadly swayed the minds of a certain proportion of folks who perhaps had not weighed the evidence fully. For a good news story, the media has gone to extraordinary lengths of distortion and paving the way for Big Capital to ride into town on a bulldozer.

The Route Partnership came into being, consisting of the nuclear construction giants Halcrow and Birse; together with the Duchy of Cornwall and the various limbs of local government. A bizzarely unnaccountable blend of officialdom and GLOBAL BIG BUSINESS. 'Thatcherism in Action'.

If the islanders were happy with their end of the plan, would they, as fellow Democrats, deny us Penzance folk the right to approve the plans for OUR end of the bargain?

Personally, I find terms like 'Battle of Battery Rocks' offensive. This is media 'stirring the pot' to sell papers - in what way does the press promote unity and genuine debate with an attitude such as this?

The Friends of Penzance Harbour was spontaneously founded in 2008 by a core group of deeply concerned locals and immediately recieved strong support from the community. This was particularly evident at the public 'consultation' exhibition in October 2008, where people were not amused at the vulgar, exhorbitant and unneccesary plans they were shown.

The plan was to bury a small beach, rock-pools and sea-bed in thousands of tons of concrete - this for freight sheds and a lorry turning circle. The historic listed peir was to be breached and the war-memorial overshadowed by a toilet block. The proposed terminal building was a kitch hutch with all the character of a portaloo. It would also have obscured promenaders views of Mounts Bay - thus diminishing the towns worth and attraction to tourists and locals alike.

Various cheaper and vastly less intrusive schemes have been offered as alternatives, but the Council was strangely fixated on 'Option A' and would give serious speculation to nothing else. It all looked very much like a 'done deal'. 'Evidence' of a 15 per cent increase on goods in the Scillies resulting from the alternative plan is a downright lie. Ironically, it was the sheer bloated expense of the scheme itself that led to its governmental rejection...

Any disharmony percieved to exist between the little islands and the big island can be squarely laid at the door of the capitalist press lobbying for their elitist pals in big business. Though many Scilly islanders have excessive wealth, the working class there presumably have some concept of how media corporations and multinationals attempt to control peoples perceptions and beliefs, so as to dominate their economic life.

What the Western Morning News calls 'suspected quibbling', the rest of us call adhering to such procedures as The Penwith Local Plan, the Aarhus Convention, and, more to the point, the WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

Then in December 2009 the scheme was soundly thrown out by the 'Strategic Planning Committee' in a legal and Democratic vote.

The relief of Penzance was shortlived however. The Council 'politically cleansed' the Planning Committee! They re-shuffled it and repopulated it with 'tame' councillors. To make it harder for us to attend, the planning meeting was held in Truro - I'm barely skimming the surface here when it comes to listing abuses of the Democratic process. To make matters worse, the belicose Councillor Hicks, Head of Transport, saw fit to liken Penzance folks to nazis, scum-bags, incapable of rational debate, etc. etc. he even made it into Private Eye, twice (though admittedly once was for a police authority expenses thing). He was the 'mastermind' who wasted 45,000 pounds plus expenses of OUR money on the ludicrous 'scoping of Falmouth' as an alternative ferry port!!!

Around this time the True Fiends of Penzance took no bribes whatsoever, but propagated 'Option A' like it was going out of style... Their main platform seemed to be based on the discredited 'trickle-down' economic model. They seemed unaware that even the labour for the scheme was not going to be local, let alone the profit-sharing, which was going to the nuclear Big Boys Halcrow and Birse.

No government would support a blundering mastodon of a scheme that bloated from 42 to 62 million in a couple of years - they have more sense, even in times of economic boom. The fact that we as a nation swapped one corrupt government for another is neither here nor there. Those who do not like 'the cuts' should perhaps get organized against them.

Whilst hacking back survival services to the most vulnerable, Cornwall Council was prepared to borrow another 5 million - at high risk, but Westminster still pointed out the extreme folly inherent in 'Option A' - just as the sensible People of PZ had been doing for some time! As for 'reducing the price tag by 26 million' this is simply hogwash - look at the governments own figures!

It was in a frenzy of wrath that Councillor Hicks attacked central government for spoiling his uber-plan - perhaps Graeme should stop insulting everyone in sight and quietly admit that his plan was simply wrong and has been rejected by both Penzance and Westminster because most of us can plainly see that - 'Option A' was just plain wrong. Hicks did everything he could do, to override democratic accountability and bulldoze his plan through, but he forgot to reckon with the will of the general public.

The powers that be hate it when People Power actually works...

Save The Holy Headland - the Aarhus Connection

Open Letter To: Rt.Hon.Norman Baker MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Regional and Local Transport),

Rt.Hon Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State, Communities and Local Government,

Rt.Hon.Andrew George MP,

C.C. Richard Williams, Head of Legal Services, Cornwall Council

Dear Members of the House,

Re: The Aarhus Convention & Penzance Harbour

Being under the impression that the local authorities of Great Britain are currently required to work within the terms of the above convention when putting forth plans and proposals for new developments in their areas, I contacted Cornwall Council to find out in what manner they had embraced the Aarhus Convention and applied it to their procedure in respect of the proposed works to Penzance South Pier and the building over of the adjacent beach. The reply which I received from them indicates that the plans for Penzance have been drawn up in complete disregard for the terms of the Convention. Here is a copy of the correspondence:

"Reference Number: IAR-003899

Response provided under: Freedom of Information Act 2000

Request and Response:

May I please be informed of:

1) All details regarding the council's strategy for adopting and implementing the

legal requirements of the Aarhus Convention (Hereinafter known as 'the Convention').

Namely, copies of documents setting out this strategy and their dates of publication.

2) The names of officials who have received appropriate training in your convention

implementation strategy.

3) The dates (beginning and end) on which this training was given.

4) The minutes of the meeting at which the terms of the Convention were first

explained to the council officials.
Yours sincerely, Jeremy Schanche

Access to information – Freedom of Information policy

Public participation – the Community Engagement Strategy outlines the

improvements we making in public participation. The strategy is available on the

drafting a public consultation and community engagement policy that will be rolled out

across the Council.

In relation to questions 2 and 3, we have no records here in Highways relating

to any of our staff receiving Aarhus Convention training.

In respect of questions 1 and 4, there are also no records, documents or

minutes of meetings in respect of the Convention and its adoption in Highways.

Information provided by: Chief Executive’s Department, Environment, Planning &

Economy."

In view of the above, I believe that Cornwall Council have acted unlawfully, and that if they were to pursue their current proposals regarding Penzance Harbour, they will inevitably become enmired in a costly and ultimately unproductive lawsuit. I would ask you all to consider this information when weighing up any decisions regarding the funding and propagation of this project.

Yours sincerely, Jeremy Schanche

Cornwall Council Morons Murder Healthy Tree, PZ.

...In the latest move in Cornwall Council's war against the natural beauty of PENZANCE, and the wishes of the people that live here, they have now destroyed the healthy young tree that grew at the bottom of Causeway Head. All that now remains is a truncated stump - sad testament to the rapacity of the chainsaw that all too quickly amputates beauty, killing the growth of years in a couple of minutes.

FLOWERS - Shocked and saddened townspeople have left a floral tribute to the butchered tree, together with a card bearing the message "Yeah, WHY?" - a question that many of us here in Penzance (Cornish for the Holy Headland) will be asking ourselves as this spring no blossom grows to soften the concrete cube of ETS shop, and no birds sing.

Some believe that the tree was terminated because locals used it for displaying public signs, thus exercising their right to Free Expression. Others subscribe to the theory that it is a punitive action by Cornwall Council, who are enraged by Penzance's spirit of Self-Determination when it comes to defending the natural beauty of the town.

Where Are Our Megaliths?

CALLING ALL WHO CARE FOR CORNWALL'S CULTURE!

This is to inform anyone interested in our unique ancient culture that a precious fragment of it is threatened with destruction. The site of St Anthony's Chapel, Penzance's earliest building, is currently being used as a car park and there are plans to build over it. Several pieces of the original structure have been removed by Cornwall Council. I am attempting to negotiate with the council to prevent the obliteration of the St Anthony's Chapel site, but they are proving evasive.

Where Are the Stones, Mr Alec Robertson?
40 days later... No response from "the Leader" on what he's done with the remains of St Anthony's Chapel...an ancient keltic monument and the oldest building in Penzance...Perhaps a "Freedom of Information" request can squeeze the truth out of him and his accomplices...

Battery Rocks

ibrowze | 26 October 2010

Widescreen version with updated footage designed to see off the scaremongers who wish to bypass common sense with their destructive Option A. Falmouth was just a fantasy suggestion clearly designed to impose fear amongst the spineless sheeple who were mesmerised into believing Option A was the only viable plan on the table. DUUURGHH !!! Option A by the very nature of it's name clearly demonstrates that other options didn't get a look in. Option PZ+ has much to offer regarding redevelopment of the existing harbour however my humble opinion based on common sense favours Charlie Cartwright's ideas giving Trythall Shipping the 'X' factor. Www.friendsofpzharbour.org has a comprehensive rundown of the unfolding saga and is the crucial hub for those who do not wish to see the Holy Headland of Penzance abused in such an unnecessary fashion realising that the future of the Isles of Scilly link lies within the harbour walls.
Battery Rocks and it's bijou beach have plenty of support from those prepared to stand up against the corporate bullies who clearly have dollar signs whizzing around so fast in their eye sockets that they're likely to miss the boat. Buoyed up by the truly abusive and offensive nature of the oxymoronically entitled "True Friends of Penzance Harbour", journalists are havng a field day. It's time that everyone pulled together in the interests of the local inhabitants.

True Friends of PZ?

BIRSE NUCLEAR - A TRUE FRIEND OF PENZANCE?????

Now let us take a quick glimpse at the self-styled 'True Friends of Penzance', that ridiculous group of self-interested merchants who have attempted to seize, pollute, warp and lie their way into the public consciousness of Pen Sans - the people who would bury their own heritage for a longed-for but non-existent purse of silver.....

...FULL LIST HERE...

WHY LOOK! There's old Hugh Harazi, at Cornish Concrete Limited! I wonder what good old Hugh could possibly hope to gain from 'Option A'............ and look! There's Mr Ged Wright of Birse and Co., those nuclear waste merchants, who are waiting in the wings to collect a multi-million pound hand out from their masonic pals in Cornwall Councill..... surprise, surprise.....
and LOOK! There's Mr Richard Tatlow, also of that well-known group of environmentalists, THE CORNISH CONCRETE COMPANY LIMITED...... & of course, Mr Tim Dwelly, whose dodgy pals at Cornwall Council have just awarded a Multi Million Pound Contract to subject Cornwall to broadband..... What a sordid and embarrassing display of cronyism, greed and insider trading, masquerading as the protectors of our old town of PENZANCE! Oh, who's that we almost overlooked? Why it's our old pal Mike Waters, misrepresentative of the Penzance Chamber of Horrors... Previous articles from the archives of The Limpet referring to Mike Waters can be found at:

See Page 8 of The Limpet, No.49, where Mike Waters does not rise to our challenge to prove his slanderous lies.....
In which Mike Waters and Graham Hicks get voted 'BABY OF THE YEAR'

Fascinating interview with Mike Waters in Issue 1 of 'The Crumpet':

& FINALLY, OUR MUCH-LOVED 'HUMPTY DUMPTY' POSTER OF MIKE.....

The sweet pretty things are in bed now of course
The city fathers they're trying to endorse
The reincarnation of Paul Revere's horse
But the town has no need to be nervous

The ghost of Belle Starr she hands down her wits
To Jezebel the nun she violently knits
A bald wig for Jack the Ripper who sits
At the head of the chamber of commerce

Mama's in the fact'ry
She ain't got no shoes
Daddy's in the alley
He's lookin' for the fuse
I'm in the streets
With the tombstone blues
