Financial Fools Day

...At least 32 people were arrested in connection with the protests.

Outside the Bank of England, an effigy of a banker hung from the traffic lights was set on fire, releasing fumes of pungent black smoke.

Later, police slowly began to let people out of the cordon but there were no longer confrontations with demonstrators.

One activist was heard saying to another: "I'll see you tomorrow."

Anger at bankers' role in the global economic downturn and frustration at slow progress in tackling climate change prompted thousands to take to the streets.

Four protest marches converged on the Bank of England after setting off along separate routes as helicopters circled overhead.

City workers leaned out of windows and waved £10 notes at demonstrators on the streets below, who responded with jeers and shouts...

...looks like a jolly good time was had by all, NOW to the SERIOUS stuff, what's going to happen today?..
